Candlelight in church holds a special place in our hearts as a sign of hope and love. We know that Jesus is the “light of the world”, and John emphasizes this in his first chapter: John 1:4: “In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” When we pray, we light candles to remind ourselves that Jesus is the light of the world and our hope. We call to God’s heart our special needs and moments of thanksgiving and praise. Candles to light for personal prayers are available in the rotunda of the Serra Center.

Candles are available during these hours:

M-F 7:30am -9am

Saturday: 7:30-9 and 3:30-7:30pm

Sunday 7:30am – 8:30pm

Suggested donation for a candle is $2.
