It’s a brand new season of “Being Franciscan: Conversations on Living a Franciscan Life”. Join us as we welcome missionary friar, Fr. Tommy King, spiritual leader of Guaymas mission in Mexico. Like Francis, his love is to care for the poor and homeless. He will talk about how his life experience has brought him closer to his father, St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast day we celebrate together on October 4th.
Fr. Tommy is currently working as Executive Director of Casa Franciscana in Guaymas, Sonora in northern Mexico. Casa Franciscana serves the poor in Guaymas every day by serving an average of 500 hot meals, offering medical services, attention from professional social workers, a craft cooperative for women, a culinary school to prepare people for jobs in restaurants and much more. Casa Franciscana has 23 paid employees and hundreds of volunteers. Fr. Tommy has also done missionary work in the Peruvian Amazon and Guatemala. He has a great passion for Franciscan mission and evangelization.
