For better or worse:
“Cardinals Hugh and Bonaventure Dueling over the Interpretation of the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Lk 16:19-31).” Hugh died in 1263, Bonaventure in 1274.

We are delighted to welcome back this eminent Franciscan scholar for a special presentation.

Robert J. Karris, OFM, ThD, is a Franciscan priest of the Sacred Heart Province. He is Professor Emeritus of the Franciscan Institute, St. Bonaventure University. He lives at St. Peter’s in Chicago’s Loop. Annually he still authors two weeks of Weekday Homily Helps for Franciscan Media. At St. Peter’s he gives talks on the New Testament, and will likely do two lectures each on John and Luke this Fall. On most weekends Fr. Robert can be found in parishes throughout the USA raising money for the little ones served by Food for the Poor. In his 13 years for FFP he has visited some 300 churches where he has acquired “some sense of the pulse of the US Church.”
