Pope Pius XII designated  Saint Clare of Assisi as the patron saint of television in 1958 on the basis that when she was too ill to attend  Holy Mass, she had reportedly been able to see and hear it on the wall of her room.

Inspired by St. Clare, Mission San Luis Rey Parish is reaching out to our sick and homebound parishioners.  Our 10:00 am Sunday Mass in English and 12 noon Sunday Mass in Spanish is live-streamed on our parish website each weekend.  The Mass, which can be seen and heard in its entirety, can be viewed with an Internet connection on most flash-enabled desktop computers, laptops, cell-phones, and other smart devices.

Those planning to view the Mass live from our website are encouraged to join us at 9:55 am and 11:55 am,  a few minutes prior to the start of the Mass to ensure that you can successfully access the broadcast before Mass begins.  All are reminded that viewing a live-streamed Mass does NOT fulfill the Sunday obligation UNLESS one is physically unable to attend.  If you have any questions or comments, please email our IT / Communications Director, Karen Willson, at or call 760-547-0701.
