My dear friends, we have all been impacted by Covid-19 in one way or another. Hopefully, you and your loved ones have been spared this terrible illness. Many of our parishioners have had serious financial setbacks due to the virus. Some have lost their jobs or put on leave. I am very proud of the way our parish has responded in our outreach to the poor. In particular, I wish to congratulate Mr. Angel Ibarra for his leadership in our Parish Outreach and Advocacy Ministry and his crew of faithful volunteers in service of the needy, especially in this time of crisis!
In speaking of those who have been impacted by Covid-19, I must say that our parish’s financial situation has suffered quite a bit. I want to thank all those who have been generously supporting the parish even in these hard times. Just this last week, in a meeting with our parish staff, I had to announce that starting in July we will be cutting hours of staff members until our financial situation heals. All of our parish staff understood this and have graciously accepted this decision.
Looking at your own financial situation, I am simply asking that each household do its best to help support the parish. If you are not on the electronic giving program, you may wish to call the parish about this. If you come to Mass, you may leave your offering in the baskets provided. Or if you are staying in place, you may send in your contribution in the mail.
I realize that this is not an easy time for us—only asking that each of us do what we can. Let us continue to pray for each other and for an end to this disease which has caused so much grief to thousands of people! Amen!
