Pope Pius XII designated Saint Clare of Assisi as the patron saint of television in 1958 on the basis that when she was too ill to attend Holy Mass, she had reportedly been able to see and hear it on the wall of her room. Inspired by St. Clare, Mission San Luis Rey Parish is reaching out to all our parishioners, friends, and neighbors, as well as our homebound. The Mass, which can be seen and heard in its entirety as a recording or a live-stream, can be viewed with an Internet connection on most desktop computers, laptops, cell-phones, and other smart devices.
Recordings of the mass are online under MASS RECORDINGS, on the front page of the desktop website, and on our YouTube page by 8 am on Sunday mornings. To have an email sent with a link to the weekend mass, join our Flocknote page here.
Those planning to view the Mass live from our website each Saturday are encouraged to join us on our YouTube channel page at 3:55 pm for our English Language Mass and 5:55 pm for our Spanish language mass. Please join us a few minutes prior to the start of the Mass to ensure that you can successfully access the broadcast before Mass begins.
If the stream is not yet active, you may see a box that reads LIVESTREAM BEGINS IN A FEW MINUTES. Or, a countdown. Or, “SORRY, THIS MEDIA IS OFFLINE”. If active, a picture will appear inside the box. Click on the picture to view.
Troubleshooting: No sound? Please be sure to click on the video box for the audio control to be sure your sound is not muted. Also, check to be sure your phone, mobile device, tablet or desktop have the sound on. Buffering issues? Click on the video box to refresh.
