Founded on the Franciscan virtues of service and compassion, the Department of Social Outreach and Advocacy seeks to address the charitable needs of our parish community. Our passion for social justice is at the heart of all our programming and we strive to share our gospel of love throughout the community.
Our Franciscan identity invites us to have face to face encounters with those we serve. We have established community partnerships with fellow faith-based organizations working in the Oceanside community to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. Feel the call to serve Christ in the poor? Join one of our serving teams, or dedicate some time to separate and organize clothes at one of our partner organization thrift stores. If interested, please contact Angel Ibarra at 760-547-0708.
PARISH FOOD PANTRY
Located in the Loretto House, our parish food pantry is open to the public for emergency food assistance. We rely on the generosity of the parish community to keep our pantry stocked with non-perishable canned goods. Each visit ensures a week's worth of food for individuals or families. You can help by purchasing items from our wish list and dropping them in one of our food collection baskets in the Serra Center on Mass days. Our wish list includes Rice, Beans, Eggs, SPAM, Soup, Canned Corn, Canned Vegetables, Pasta, Canned Tuna, and Grape Jelly.
Volunteers are also needed to help organize, tidy up, and assist visitors in the food pantry. If interested, please contact Angel Ibarra at 760-547-0708.
