Keeping the Season of Advent for Saturday, December 10

Second Week of Advent

While lighting the first two candles on your Advent wreath today, make a commitment to continue joyful expectations during Advent. Pray the Rosary or the Magnificat and observe yourself becoming less stressed during this time of many demands from the secular world. Today’s memorial remembers the birthplace of Mary, in Palestine.

Today’s readings: Sirach 48:1–4, 9–11; Psalm 80:2ac and 3b, 15–16, 18–19; Matthew 17:9a, 10–13.

Celebrate This Christmas!

While you’re having a quiet moment for prayer or dinner this week as a family, use this week’s KEEPING THE SEASON’s handout to bring Advent and the seasons beyond to life at your house. The gifts of joy and hope given to us by the Birth, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus offer something for everyone!
