Respect for Life Means Helping Moms

Pregnant and parenting moms in need are in our parishes and our neighborhoods. As Pope Francis reminds us, our parishes need to be “islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of indifference.”

What can I do to help?

  1. Act!

During October’s Respect for Life Month, our Knights of Columbus are helping local pregnant moms and families in need with a Baby Shower and Bottle Drive. Stop by the Knight’s table outside masses this Sunday, October 4th. Knights will be passing out Baby Bottles to collect your spare change. They will be collecting your filled bottles, cash, and items for newborn babies following each Mass on Sunday, October 4th.

2) Pray!

Under the protection of Mary, our Blessed Mother, add all pregnant mothers to your family’s prayer time this week.

3) Learn!

If someone asked you, would you know where to refer a pregnant mom in need? Social Outreach at our parish offers diapers and food. Where is our local Pregnancy Resource Center? Pathway Health Clinic in Vista offers free services such as pregnancy testing and ultrasound, advocates who take the time to listen, parent education, and STD & Abstinence education.
