Did You Know…

  1. During this 40th Anniversary of the Refugee Act of 1980, we commemorate the many contributions of refugees over the years and also the refugees on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis, with 161,000 refugees working as health care workers and 170,000 laboring as part of the U.S. food supply chain.
  2. Jesus calls us to welcome refugees and immigrants and says that when we extend a helping hand to them, we are meeting him face-to-face.
  3. The Catholic community supports refugees around the world by advocating to protect U.S. foreign aid and a refugee program that is safe for refugees and for the communities that welcome them.
  4. Today, more than 70 million people around the world have been forcibly displaced from their homes, nearly 26 million of these individuals are refugees.
