Koi Pond Ministry

HomeKoi Pond Ministry

Welcome to Koi Pond Ministry!

The Koi Pond Ministry at Mission San Luis Rey Parish cares for the beautiful koi fish, turtles, and gardens surrounding the historic pond built in 1955 by the Sisters of the Precious Blood. Through daily care, feeding, maintenance, and fundraising, volunteers preserve this peaceful place of retreat and reflection where parishioners and visitors can encounter the wonder of God’s creation. Serving the pond is a joyful and tangible way to honor all living creatures in the spirit of St. Francis.

Inspired by St. Francis’ reverence for all creatures, members of the Koi Pond Ministry embody a spirit of care, stewardship, and gratitude. Through small acts of daily service, they safeguard the beauty of creation, offering a serene place for rest, prayer, and awe in the heart of the parish.
