Welcome to Sacristan Ministry!

The Sacristan Ministry at Mission San Luis Rey Parish ensures that the worship space is prayerfully prepared for every liturgical celebration. Like skilled weavers behind the scenes, sacristans oversee the sacred vessels, books, candles, and environment, providing the essential tools that allow the assembly to participate fully, consciously, and actively in the liturgy. Their quiet, faithful service reflects a deep love for God’s house and enhances the beauty and reverence of parish worship.

In the spirit of St. Francis, who loved the beauty of God’s presence, sacristans serve with humility, attention to detail, and a heart for prayer. Their ministry creates an atmosphere of reverence, welcoming all to encounter God in sacred liturgy and offering quiet stewardship of the house where God’s Spirit dwells.
