Hello! My name is Deacon Lyle Blackmon, and I have had the joy and honor of serving as a deacon for over five years. For the past thirty-six years, I have been a parishioner and deacon at Camp Pendleton, where I’ve been blessed to walk alongside many in faith and community.
My journey to the diaconate has been shaped by a rich tapestry of churches, people, and spiritual experiences, all of whom I hold in deep gratitude. Each encounter has been a step toward this vocation of service.
Before becoming a deacon, I proudly served as a United States Marine and later as a college professor for many years. These experiences have grounded my ministry in discipline, compassion, and a love for learning.
I have been happily married for forty years to my wonderful wife, Emi, and together we’ve raised two adult childrenand now enjoy the great joy of being grandparents to two growing grandchildren.
It is my greatest joy to serve the Church and share in the life of the community. I look forward to seeing you at Mass.
Peace and All Good!
