This week’s latest news from our Intercultural Catholic Community for August 16, 2026.
Don't Miss This Week
The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary celebrates a deeply human hope: that our bodies, choices, suffering, and love are not disposable, but are meant for renewal and communion with God. Mary’s being taken, body and soul, into heaven points to the promised resurrection of every person and honors her courageous “yes” to God. We are invited to reflect on our human dignity, the hope of life everlasting with Our Lord, and the very real fact that each of us can look forward to what is good and eternal. Join us for Mass at 8:00 a.m. in the Parish Church tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th, 2026, to celebrate. (Note: This Solemnity is a Holy Day, but the obligation has been dispensed by the Diocese of San Diego.)
Please enjoy a moment or two with the soaring voice of singer/songwriter Inés de Jesús. Her latest song, “Tu Dios, Tu Pastor,” invites us to trust in the voice of Christ—the Good Shepherd—who knows each person by name, cares for His children, and offers Himself as nourishment for the life of the world. Concert tickets are available at the door for tonight’s celebration in the Parish Church. The concert is in Spanish, but all are welcome! It starts at 7:00 p.m.
Thanks to the talent of Alberto Beltrán, our Facilities Manager, and your contributions to the Parish Building Fund, the baptismal font now has a new pump, filter, and check valve, along with more walking space in the mechanical area. Thank you for your patience and generosity.
