We are blessed to welcome Br. Angel Vazquez, OFM, to our Intercultural Catholic Community. He will soon begin serving in our Food Pantry. The transition will be smooth until Grisel retires on November 20th. Also, in January, Br. Angel will complete his full-time service in our parish by supporting the Parish Office, mostly in the evenings and on Sundays, to serve the Religious Education Ministries. Br. Angel is 44 years old; he was a high school counselor before joining the Franciscan Order and professed his solemn vows on August 29, 2020.
He has also served in different ministries, including St. Bonaventure University, St. Francis Inn (soup kitchen) in Philadelphia, and Roger Bacon Catholic High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Angel trained professionally as a barber and ran a small barber shop at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, NY, and continued serving fresh haircuts for the homeless on weekends at St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia.
