Thanksgiving Day Mass 2025

Thanksgiving is a day to appreciate our blessings, and for Catholics, no expression of gratitude is greater than the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. In fact, the word Eucharist comes from the Greek word meaning “thanksgiving.”

Here are five beautiful reasons to attend Mass with us in the Parish Church at 10 a.m.  on Thanksgiving Day:

  1. Give Thanks to God. Everything we have—our families, friends, faith, health, and daily blessings—is a gift from God. Mass gives us an opportunity to thank Him.
  2. Celebrate the True Meaning of Thanksgiving. Before the cooking, football, and family gatherings, we can begin our holiday by remembering the One from whom all blessings flow.
  3. Pray for Those Less Fortunate. Thanksgiving reminds us that while we have much to be grateful for, others may be struggling with poverty, illness, loneliness, or grief. At Mass, we can lift them up in prayer.
  4. Strengthen Our Families and Faith. Attending Mass together reminds us that our greatest blessings are not material possessions but love, faith, and our relationships with God and one another.
  5. Receive the Greatest Gift of All. Through the Eucharist, Catholics receive Jesus Christ Himself. What greater blessing could we receive on Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it is an opportunity to recognize God’s goodness in our lives. At Mass, we offer our gratitude for blessings received, pray for those in need, and celebrate the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

This Thanksgiving, make room for gratitude, make time for prayer, and begin your celebration with God.

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his mercy endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
