The book Sine Proprio: The Franciscan Art of Living is available once again at the Welcome Table for a suggested donation of $5.00. This book is a compilation of reflections on the Admonitions of St. Francis. Fr. Lalo wrote the reflection for the first admonition.

Friday, October 2, 2026, our Knights of Columbus will host a Family Prayer Night at 6:00 p.m. in the Serra Garden, before Eucharistic Adoration at 7:00 p.m. Families are invited to come and pray the rosary.

Saturday, October 3^rd, we will celebrate Transitus, the commemoration of the death of St. Francis. On this 8ooth Anniversary of his death, we will welcome Bishop Pham in a very special prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Church. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Sunday, October 4^th, the 10 AM Mass will be our first Children’s Mass of this catechetical year. All families are invited to this Mass, geared toward children.

October is Respect Life Month.  The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has declared this year’s theme as “Mary, Mother of Life.” The Knights of Columbus will be handing out prayer cards, one per family, called the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life.  Please pick up one before Mass on October 4, 2026. 

Friday, October 9^th at 7:00 p.m., we will have a Night of Sung Prayer, sponsored by the Men of St. Joseph’s Ministry. This free music event features all Parish choirs. Concessions will be available, and proceeds will benefit our Parish Youth Programs.

On Saturday, October 10^th, our Diocese of San Diego will welcome the tilma relic bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe at a special event to inaugurate the 5-year preparation to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to San Juan Diego. The Mass and procession with our bishops will be at Cathedral High School. To help parishioners participate, we are coordinating a bus.
