Social Outreach Update 5-31-2020

Our Parish Food Pantry located in Loretto House is open to the public for emergency food assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can drop off donations during those hours on outside tables for zero contact.

If you or someone you know would like to receive a food package, please call 619‐323‐2841 or sign up online at https://www.ccdsd.org/efdn Choose drive‐thru pick-up or home delivery and click on Mission San Luis Rey.

We rely on the generosity of the parish community to keep our pantry stocked with non-perishable canned goods. Each visit ensures a week’s worth of food for individuals or families.  You can help by purchasing items from our wish list which includes Rice, Beans, Eggs, SPAM, Soup, Canned Corn, Canned Vegetables, Pasta, Canned Tuna, and Grape Jelly and more

To support the food pantry,   click here to purchase from our Amazon Wishlist! Items can be donated and shipped directly to Mission San Luis Rey Parish to help local families in need.  Or you can drop off donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on outside tables for zero contact.

A big thank you to those who have contributed using our Amazon Wishlist. It has been a huge success!

MISSION

Founded on the Franciscan virtues of service and compassion, the Department of Social Outreach and Advocacy seeks to address the charitable needs of our parish community. Our passion for social justice is at the heart of all our programming and we strive to share our gospel of love throughout the community. SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Our Franciscan identity invites us to have face to face encounters with those we serve. We have established community partnerships with fellow faith-based organizations working in the Oceanside community to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Feel the call to serve Christ in the poor? Join one of our serving teams, or dedicate some time to separate and organize clothes at one of our partner organization thrift stores.  If interested, please contact Angel Ibarra at 760-547-0708.
