Simbang Gabi translates to Night Mass. It is a Filipino devotional nine-day series of Masses in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in anticipation of Christmas.

LAS POSADAS are celebrated each evening. The posadas re-enact Mary and Joseph’s difficult journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of shelter; in Spanish, the word means “lodging.”
