Dear Parish Family,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests!” (Luke 2:14).
Christmas provides all of us with a unique opportunity each year to refocus. Not only are we reminded of the futile and ever-changing world in which we live, but also of a God who has come to impact our lives with the gift of his presence, that is, himself, Jesus. But it also reminds us that Jesus has come to bring peace between God and man. That is why the angels triumphantly sang: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests!”
As a new year approaches, we want, as Christians and as a Parish Community, to challenge ourselves to transform this world in which we live. People are in great need, and now, more than ever, we have to radiate life. We need to be people of prayer, faith, righteousness, and compassion. We need to love each other and love God above all else.
This 2025 is one more opportunity to commit to living more fully for Jesus Christ and embark on a journey together as brothers and sisters of different cultures, languages, genders, ages, social statuses, colors, races, but united in the same faith and the same heart; as pilgrims of Hope who, by joining the Universal Church, celebrate a Jubilee Year.
What an exciting year 2024 has been for our faith community! It was a year in which, with joy and hope, we began to walk with three priorities: the Eucharist, Interculturality, and Intergenerationally. We have seen the need to grow in our relationships and services between our cultural communities, young and old, men and women, linked to the Eucharist, the mystery of love that is and invites us to communion. I ask for your prayers and willingness to respond to this pastoral plan with generosity, listening to the voice of Jesus and following in his footsteps.
Serving God and this beautiful community is a privilege, and I hope to be with you and count on you for as long as God has planned. You have won my affection. The kindness, generosity, and hospitality from everyone have been a great encouragement. Please continue doing the same. And please, always pray for me, for Fr. Joe and Fr. More, so that we can always serve you following the model of Emmanuel, who, being God, became small to be among us.
May the Lord fill you with the wonders and graces of Mary, the Mother of God, with the obedience of Joseph, with the joy of the angels, with the willingness of the shepherds, with the determination of the magi, and with the peace of the Christ Child. God bless you now and always.
Happy New Year.
