Fr. Juan Antonio is a Franciscan priest originally from México. Following his vocational call, he joined the Order of Friars Minor, Province of Saint Peter and Paul, Michoacán, Mexico, in 1989. Continuing his formation to the priesthood, he earned a bachelor´s degree in philosophy from the Convento de la Santa Cruz College in Queretaro, Qro., Mexico. His ecclesiastical preparation in theology occurred at the Franciscan formation house, Saint Anthony Seminary, in El Paso, Texas, USA., where he acquired an academic degree in dogmatic theology.
Fr. Juan Antonio professed Solemn Vows in the Order of Friars Minor in June 1996 and was ordained a priest in June 1997. After his ordination, he earned a degree in spirituality in Mexico City, Mexico, followed by a degree in Systematic Theology from the Pontifical University of Mexico.
He has served in parishes in Mexico, Chile, and the United States. He has also been a spiritual director and advisor to lay people, seminarians, and consecrated men and women. He is the rector of San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato, México.
