All parishioners are invited to attend the Parish Assembly on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 9:15 am to 11:30 am in St. Francis Hall. At the assembly, the current Pastoral Plan will be reviewed, and updates provided regarding the Pastoral Council’s actions in the past year.
You may ask, what is a pastoral plan? A pastoral plan is a document that outlines the mission, vision, and goals of a particular church or parish. It is a prayerful and participative process that involves the entire community in discerning how best to live out their faith in the present and future.
A pastoral plan might include:
- A mission statement: This is a brief declaration of our church’s purpose and identity.
- A vision statement: This is a more detailed description of what our church hopes to achieve in the future.
- An assessment of the current situation: This includes an overview of the church’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and concerns.
- Goals and objectives: These are specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant statements of what our church hopes to accomplish.
- Strategies and action steps: These are the steps that our church can take to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Evaluation and assessment: This is a process of monitoring the church’s progress and making necessary adjustments to its plan.
A pastoral plan is a living document. Meetings such as our upcoming Parish Assembly give us the opportunity to review and update our plan to reflect the changing needs of our church and our community. It is a valuable tool for helping our community stay focused on its mission, provide a framework for making decisions, identify and address needs, and achieve our goals.
