Live in Light

In these last Sundays of Lent, when we have listened to the beginning of the Gospel, Jesus has always been on his way. The evangelists do not mention where Jesus is going. We now know that he was on his way to fulfill his mission, the paschal mystery, which was the will of his Father. With his passion, death, and resurrection, Jesus brings salvation, but he also brings liberation.

Let the Holy Spirit be Your Guide

In today’s Gospel, we hear about Jesus’ temptation in the desert. I want to invite you to reflect on two verses of this passage. The first one, “Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.” and the second, “One does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.”

Celebrating Marriage 2023

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Welcome Home! Ash Wednesday 2023

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2023, Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time of sacrifice and repentance as we strive to turn our hearts to Jesus.  Lent is a time to grow in holiness and prepare ourselves to enter into the Paschal Mystery (the suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus).  The ashes we receive at church remind us of our mortality and the need to repent of our sins. The shape of the cross traced on our foreheads is a reminder of the sacrifice made for us on the cross by our savior, Jesus Christ.

If you have been away from Mass, away from the Eucharist, welcome home! Come, be fed by Jesus. Welcome back to the table of the Lord!
