Happy Birthday, Church!  Pentecost is called the “birthday” of the Catholic Church because it marks the descent of the Holy Spirit, empowering the apostles to begin preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Remember our annual outdoor Multicultural Pentecost Mass tomorrow morning, Sunday, May 19th, at 11 a.m. in Serra Gardens. Remember to bring a chair, sunscreen, and a hat. We encourage you to wear something that represents your culture or something red, as it is the liturgical color. After the Mass, there will be cultural food stalls and a variety of music from our various communities. Join us in celebrating the church’s birthday!

¡Feliz cumpleaños, Iglesia! Pentecostés es llamado el “cumpleaños” de la Iglesia Católica porque marca el descenso del Espíritu Santo, que da poder a los apóstoles para comenzar a predicar la Buena Nueva de Jesucristo.

Recuerde nuestra Misa anual de Pentecostés Multicultural al aire libre mañana por la mañana, domingo 19 de mayo, a las 11 a.m. en Serra Gardens. Recuerda traer silla, bloqueador solar y sombrero. Te animamos a llevar algo que represente tu cultura o algo rojo, ya que es el color litúrgico. Después de la Misa, habrá puestos de comida cultural y una variedad de música de nuestras distintas comunidades. ¡Únase a nosotros para celebrar el cumpleaños de la iglesia!
